Fastest workflow to merge sequence of RAW files in 1 image?

As per example above, my workflow is typically:

Make general adjustments in LR >>> Select edited photos and export to Photoshop >> Create new blank canvas in PS >> Drag all edited photos into blank canvas and save as Jpg.

PS feels like an unnecessary step because I'm only using it to align the photos together, and even for that purpose, it is not ideal because the margins between each photo is inconsistent (takes a lot of time to perfect it).

I tried using the LR Print module but it didn't seem to allow me to specify the dimensions of my canvas, or the margins around each photo.

What would be the easiest way to do this, while still keeping the collage in RAW/cr2 until I export it?

The LR print module will do all of what you want, and it will then quite happily save to file too. Here is a three image triptych that I have saved as a template.

To get this to work I have to save to JPEG, as my local printer doesn't support custom paper sizes. In the print Job tab I have custom file dimensions set for 36"×12". I then just used the sliders in the layout Tab to layout the image cells. really the only limitation is that you have the cells evenly spaced if you are using the single image/contact sheet options.

For more complex layouts you need to use the Picture package or Custom package options, which allow you to place differently sized image cells independently on the page. With those options you get a layout grid and simply drag and drop cells into position.
