I want to upgrade to a 5DS R.
So will want to trade in my utterly pampered - absolutely MINT, unmarked 5DIII. All accessories, battery, manuals, boxes etc.

There is zero MFA on my 70-200 F2.8 L II or my 70-300 L or the 40 mm panacake.
Never changed a lens outside, pampered studio camera, kept in a memory foam lined canon pro bag. Never dropped ... You get the picture totally perfect.

It could be sold with or without the genuine Canon battery grip .

Any ideas what I could ask for it as a private UK sale?
Will I do better on here under classifieds or Ebay UK?

I think WEX offerred £1,600 or £1,700 for it but cant find the notes of the conversation. Whether that was with the batterry grip or not?? But that was a month ago.

Here in the US I prefer the classifieds--in spite of the insufferable low-ballers--but ebay might be a quicker sale.

EDIT: present company excluded of course. It's the craigslist classifieds responders that can be insufferable. ;-)a

KEH has them listed for $2200-$2350 (USD) in very good condition.

That is a good place to start for prices.

And I had a firm offer on Greentoe.com for $1999 three weeks ago that I rejected. Supposedly US product from a certified US dealer. Just sayin'...

Thanks obviously being in the UK its difficult to assess so I asked WEX for quote to buy my 5DIII maybe they are comparable.

I'm going to be selling mine shortly. It's in as new condition with only 6k clicks. I normally look on eBay for pricing and look at the sold items lists which gives a feel for what things are actually going for. It's looking like £1450 is about where they are at just now for mint condition. Only problem with eBay is that they will take £75 of that for fees. I also find that things always sell for more on eBay than potn which normally negates the eBay fees

WEX are selling good ones for £1700 (actually £1709) S/H.

But that's from a reputable place with 6 mths warranty.

Part-ex you'd get £250 - £400 less depending on generosity.

New ones at HDEW are £1415 which I'm sure you have seen as you are looking at them for the 5DSr.

You might get £1600 on Ebay.

Would I buy a secondhand one from WEX or Ebay when I can get a new one from HDEW for less than £1500? No I wouldn't.

Keep the grip, as I think it will work with the 5DSr.

I'm also getting a sense of Deja-Vu from 2 years ago with a 7D discussion - I'm guessing we will be here in 2 years time discussing trade in price on a 5DSr????

;)

Thanks, seems like good logic.

So it looks like between £1,400 and £1,600 if one is lucky.

Except I think I would stick withthe 5DS R for about 4 years. Assuming they are as good as they say.
Only changing due to the huge (22 to 50 MPS )leap in resolution. And tbh, I dont think I would want much more than 50 MPS.
Famous last words eh LOL

Panamoz is doing the body new for £1,388 ..
I know it is a grey import but they do give a 3 year warranty...
Might be better trading it in than selling it...

Never heard of them. Its a good deal if their warranty is any good. The Only grey importer so far that I have heard are dependable suppliers are HDE. The rest huh. :(

You wont get 1600 on ebay. There are new ones for less. Also if you look at sold items no used ones have reached that

Panamoz are decent as are HDEW I've never had issues buying from either, I got my last 2 5DIII's off HDEW and had zero issues.
