Good Morning,

I was curious how many people are still using the 1DS Mark II? I have a diopter problem that needs repaired and Canon says they no longer service this camera. I currently shoot with two of them (and two 7D's) and really dont see a reason to change to a new camera body for my studio, landscape and wildlife work. I love these cameras! My clients are all happy and I'm happy.

Thanks!

I use this camera as my primary body along with 5D mark III and old 5D. I don´t mind switching between bodies, iQ is perfect on all cameras, never had any issue with noise or AF speed.. I´am honestly thinking about selling 5D mk III and buying 1Ds mk III instead and wait for 5D mk IV. I love 1D feel and ergonomic design.

I just got a double camera strap, so I've been using my 1Ds2 (that had been sitting on a shelf for about a year) again, and I'm loving it. There's just something about the way it renders colors, especially skin tones, that just isn't matched by other newer cameras, in my opinion.

If you do end up finding a place to repair it, please post your experience. I too have a small problem and am debating whether to send it somewhere.

I bought a 1ds THE ORIGINAL lol, when it first came out and was blown away by it then and am blown away by it still. I'm able to get great images out of it still, and I use it interchangeably with the 1 d mark III. I see no reason to buy another body as these are more than capable of getting the job done because I know how to make them get it done.

We're using one with NASM's Collections Processing Unit. When it goes, I don't know what they'll replace it with since the only other cameras that belong to the unit are lower end Nikons. They may just keep the accumulated lenses and let the two of us who use our own (5D2, 6D and 7D) cameras run with them.
