Need your thoughts...

I'm fairly new to photography and PP..... need all your thoughts regarding all aspects of this picture and be honest.... you may see this picture elsewere in forum.....thanks

I lke it, but I would try to crop the left side a little bit. In other words, get rid of the shrub, it's a little distracting.

Otherwise a great picture.

Technically...

Horizon straight and in the right place. Flagpole straight and in the right place. Saturation, brightness and colour balance all seem okay (to me at least).

Light seems a bit stark. There's something wrong...hmmm...I know! There are no shadows! Was the sun directly overhead?

I think this shot would have a lot more emotion shot at the "Golden Hours" (1 -2 hours either side of sunrise or sunset). Just my opinion, but I ain't no expert!

(Oh and it should have an Aussie flag too )

What's the bottom flag?

Really, it's a nice shot. Colors are well saturated and the composition is okay. The sky is a bit noisy, but I imagine resizing for the web did that.

But, there's nothing interesting about the shot. You might think about what interested you in making this photo, and changing the composition to emphasize that. If that makes any sense. It definitely has potential.

I am wondering about post processing. Did you just "sharpen" it instead of using "unsharp mask"? I think that there is something which doesn't look right.

Thanks for all your comments..... I know the interest level of the photo is lacking, I'm more interested in your technical opinions...I do like the idea of taking shot at more of a transitional part of the day, the shot was taken with sun overhead, I utilized the unsharp mask to sharpen. Thanks for your help, I'm still very green with this photography stuff.
