Moving Buisness

I am looking at anyone that may be in my situation. I am looking at starting a business. My big opposition is the fact that my wife and I have to move every 3 or so years for her work. Id like to be in the glamour/boudoir business. Has anyone been able to build a successful business or have any tips with having to move around regularly? I have thought of trying to get into wedding/engagement photography to establish a business then branching out. I have talked to people who have been mildly successful going this route (though Ive never met anyone who branched out past wedding/engagements/fa​mily portraits)

Moving every three years isn't ideal. It means you loose a lot of the customers you have built up and any marketing you have done. You have to start again from scratch in the new location re-building your business.

On the plus side the nature of photography means that the skills are portable. You can move to a new city and immediately start offering your services. In fact, assuming you know where you will be moving to, you can start marketing in advance of actually arriving. Also you can second shoot for local pros while building up your own customer base.
