I have a Canon 17-85 F/4-5.6 IS coming without the normal enclosed (?) instruction booklet. I've never used IS or full-time manual focus, and I'd like to get a copy of the booklet normally enclosed with the lens. Anyone have a scan, copy, or .pdf file of it? Can't seem to find one anywhere.
Thanks / Stan

I am not sure, but 2 leads might be: eBay (I've seen manuals for sale there), or try Email: canonparts@cusa.canon.com (external link)

Worth a try...

There's not a whole lot to say in a manual. Don't use IS on a tripod. Full-time manual just works - if you turn the focussing ring, the lens will change focus even if you've got AF on.

Actually, the manual doesn't say NOT to use IS on a tripod. It does suggest turning off IS to conserve battery power.

Michel, its only about 10 pages (small ones at that). If I get some time tonight I'll scan it. Do you have a preferred language (Japanese, English, French, German or Spanish)?

I have the pdf manual, courtesy of mbellot, if anyone wants it. Thanks Mark!

mbellot, that's fantastic of you to do that. I don't need it, but this is one reason why these forums are so good (and especially POTN).

Just giving back a little since I'll never have the means to provide the review services that you come through with so regularly. If you ever need anywhere to store all those leftover lenses I'd be happy to PM you my address. Plenty of space, don't be shy. :D

My favorite (for no good reason) is still the 17-85 EF conversion. I've a 20D so it does nothing for me personally, but its great to see someone trying this stuff out so the older bodies have a chance at the EF-S glass too.
