My very first flower crab spider !!!
I spotted this very unexpected find on the hollyhock flower above the one the pollinated bumble bee was sitting in. Whilst trying to avoid my attentions the spider eventually climbed down to same flower the bee was still sitting in. To avoid the spider eating the bee I moved the bee to my potentilla bush.

Superb shots of it and well done for saving the bee :-)

Got a baby one of these on my Cosmos - got some pics, but its tiny. Found a large one yesterday on the roses but its gone into hiding (must find it as I might need to relocate it lol).

Congratulations Brian. I've still to capture my first crab spider and hope I don't have to wait ten years. Mind you, the waiting won't seem so bad as long as I end up with captures anywhere as good as yours.

No wonder you waited that long, when you chase away their food. :D
Great series, worth while waiting.

It would be one thing if you just posted up some decent photos of the spider, but these are spectacular! As if you were doing all you could to match the rarity of your find. Well done!
