Hi folks,

Hoping someone here can steer me in the right direction...

I picked up a couple of Yongnuo 600's to compliment my canon 600-RT & Canon ST-E3, however have run up against an issue... for some reason when I'm using the ST-E3 to trigger (as master) the YN600's fire then about a second later my Canon 600 fires...

If I use the C600 as the master (taking the ST out of the loop) they all fire together...what am I doing wrong?? It's driving me nuts!!

Thanks in advance for your help...

When the canon 600 is in slave mode do you possibly have the sync set to 2nd curtain?

How would I check that?

In the attached pic where it points to the H with a lightning bolt that is high speed sync. If in that area nothing is displayed you're in 1st curtain sync if a symbol that resembles 3 arrows is displayed you're in 2nd curtain. Hope this helps

Thanks, no I don't have anything there, I notice that I don't have either p.fn or c.fn icons lit either, whereas both the YN's do...

Apologies for my apparent stupidity, but could this be an issue?

To be honest, I have no clue as I only have the yongnuo version and not the actual canons.

Just thought of this too. Is the canon by chance in multi mode. If it is its possible that the frequency you have it set to adds that delay.

It's in ETTL mode, just back at the hotel now as got fed up messing about in the office, going to set it up here & thumb through the manuals again on-line to see if there's anything I've missed...annoying thing is that I tested at home yesterday & they appeared fine...

Bizzarre...

Thanks for your help, I'll keep you posted

I'd recommend as a first step that you check the procedure for a reset of the Canon Speedlite, and apply it.

Could you have the ST-E3 group for the Canon Speedlite set to Ext.A? That would make it fire a pre-flash to determine the exposure required, and then the settings and sync signal are transmitted.
