I don't think I really like the autospelling in the Forum search feature. I was looking up "memorial" and the results I got back had to do with "memories." Totally unrelated.

Any way to turn it off?

Taking photos with a fancy camera does not make me a photographer.

What causes it is "stemming" (morphology) of keywords. I'll most likely turn it off in next version, as it messes up searches for some common gear (mistaking 1Ds as plural of 1D for example) and essentially prevents exact search / wildcard search which is more useful on site like this. I'm actually testing the new code right now in my development machine. Stay tuned!

That's awesome that we'll have more effective searching with the new code!

Pekka, I am curious to know something: do you write all of the search code from scratch, or do you use a more general search code that a third party already developed, and then adapt it for use on AMASS?

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I use the Sphinx (external link) search engine.
