300D : Light measure diiferent from focus point

I'd like to measure light in a certain point, and focus on another different point.
Is this possible with the 300D in AV mode ?
I'm using the russian hack firmware.

Try these methods:

1) Point the camera at the exposure point, half press the shutter to take a reading and then press the * button to lock the exposure values. Re-frame, focus, shoot. Bear in mind that FEL uses partial metering tho.

2) In manual mode, aim at your exposure point, set shutter/aperture for correct exposure. Re-frame, focus, shoot. In this mode you'll be using center-weighted metering.

3) The method I use is to dial in some exposure compensation for the difference between the two points of interest, assuming it's 2 stops or less.

No, at least I've not seen it described anywhere...

Doesn't the 300D have a CFn 4? If so, CFn 4-1 should do the trick.
