Hi everyone, My name is dc and have just found this site. Hope to meet all of you. I am just learning combinezm as I specialize in Waterdrop Photography and thought this might be helpful to me for my dof problems.
However, I just did a few trial runs, such as using a ruler, which came out pretty cool, and then I used a pill holder and it came out like crap. Is there such a thing as over sharpening in that program? I am going to post both of the pictures to see what you think.

CombineZM is a focus stacking program. I don't have any experience with it, and that is one of the reasons I was interested in this post.

So you got good results with one subject but not with another.

I do have experience with Zerene Stacker and Helicon Focus. What I noticed is that the two programs render stacks differently, and sometimes the differences are pretty big. There are also different options in these progs, and they affect the stacking process too.

So I would suggest downloading trial copies of these progs and test them out.

Hi and thanks for replying so quickly. Yeah, I don't know the in's and out's of this program yet, however, I was pretty much hoping I would get the similar results with whatever I wanted to stack. But as you can see from the ruler and the pill box, there is a big difference so I don't know what I did wrong, if anything, or is it just the subject? I liked the ruler outcome, it looks pretty good to me, but the pill box looks like a disaster. so, we'll see.
