We were working the fields capturing grasshoppers to bring home to our male
mantid when Poof spotted this beauty! With any luck she bring forth and egg
and we can watch the cycle next spring when the ootheca hatches. In the mean time
both mantids have plush spacious homes where they might live anywhere from a
year to 18 months-

The question we ponder is it wrong to capture (literally) and bring home the mantis?
I'd like to hear opinions.
We feel that in 3 weeks the first frost will do them in and can enjoy them/provide a home
and food. At the same time hope for an oot and will gladly supply my garden/orchard and the
bird studio with the newborn next spring.
Thoughts?
