Well, this title was a little misleading. Last night I was about to climb into a small Piper Warrior and fly home from a day in Provincetown, Cape Cod. As we walked down the taxiway to the unlit grass parking area where the plane was sitting, we noticed the Milky Way stretching overhead to the horizon. I set my 7D on top of the plane's fuselage and took this shot using a new Tokina 11-16mm. I had no tripod with me, so I simply sat the camera on the camera strap to position it looking at the horizon. The row of little lights on the lower left of the image are the rivets on the fuselage, illuminated by the lights of the airport off in the distance. I'm more than a little satisfied with my very first try at this. As always, C&C welcomed.
