Hi Everyone,

Most of my work in the studio up until now has been on Muslin, or plexiglass for products. I am experimenting with more glamour stuff, and would like some variation for regular stuff too, so i am getting a few paper rolls. Probably black, white, and blue to start with. I have been looking at Colourama rolls.

I was just wondering if anyone using paper reguarly has any problems with its durability?
I know it is pretty thick, and i will be sure to dust everything down (floor and the people), but was just wondering if anyone can give me any info on this.

Many thanks,

Rob

It will get scuff marks on it where people walk if they are wearing shoes, but if you are on a hard floor it shouldn't tear unless someone is running or jumping on it.

It's quite heavy. We use primarily white and it's 36 feet long I believe. It gets marked where it's walked on but has not yet torn. I figure when the paper on the floor gets too grungy looking I'll just cut it off and roll out some more. It was $50 for the 12 x 36 roll at a local shop. That's cheap enough to not really worry about it much IMO. We have used it for 5 or 6 shoots and have yet to tear it.

I've used a lot of seamless paper with dogs and it stood up to them pretty well. Even with them jumping up and down off the platform I had it drapped across. Like Dave said, when it does get torn or dirty, I just roll off some more. If you have it laying on carpet, watch out for high heels or other pointy shoes or objects. It can go through the paper pretty easy then.
