Came across a recent Road & Track article and figured I share it here. From doing a random track shoots here and there I always figured being inside even bigger and prestigious events might not be as glamorous as one might think. I found it a very worthwhile read plus I had tough time figurine out which pictures to use as my new wallpaper LOL

Formula 1 is a closed world. The mystery is part of it's appeal. That's what drew me in from a very young age. But in 2012, I earned my big photography break and photographed my first GP. Since then, I've photographed nearly 20 F1 races around the world and had a first hand look at life in the paddock. This is what it's like behind the closed door of F1 at that most historic of Grand Prix weekends: The Italian Grand Prix.

I would have embedded some of my favorite article pictures, but I don't think the rules allow that. Hope ya'll enjoy it.

It has changed so much in the last forty years. For many years a group of about 8-10 guys would make the trip to Watkins Glen for the US GrandPrix in early October and also the Manufacturer's Cup in mid July. This goes back to the 1970's. Watkins Glen at that time only required a general admission ticket and allowed the holder to pretty much wander the track. That changed and you were required to buy a seat and the wandering pretty much ceased. There were a few years of overlap and the group also went to the Canadian GP, early June as I recall. A seating ticket was optional in the early years but by wandering you could get to some wonderful vantage points.

As soon as I saw the thread title I had a feeling it was Jamey's story. I actually forgot that the article came out and didn't get a chance to read it yet. I follow him on Instagram and it is absolutely awesome. His photos are incredible.
