yea i usually just need SLIGHTLY more than 1/4000. There's always ways around it though. Unless your are stubborn and want to shoot at 2.8 on a bright day at the beach and refuse to stop down. :p

or just haul a bunch of lights out there and really take control.

Oops, I got that wrong. 1/200th max. And I end up shooting more like 1/100th or 1/140th whatever the stop is in there. Either way, I don't like the max sync speed of the 5D2 because it still gets shutter shadow. HSS works really well though :)

Yeah, a bit of a design flaw, max sync speed should really have been 1/160 1/180 like the 6D

1/250 and 1/8000 have been the hallmark of a true Pro/Semi Pro Body for decades. Exceptions certainly exist, but that is what i look for and have for 20 years or more.

Exactly, that's what the 1Dx is for, not going to see that in an 6D

My 40D had it. I'm spoiled rotten!

My EOS 3 did not. And it was considered a Pro body. I'm still surprised that not all cameras have that shutter spec. though. Back to reality.

I could see the 6D2 getting 1/8000" but I think a synch of 1/200" is more likely and still an improvement over 1/180". 1/250" is very unlikely.

What Id like is:
Better Focus: more cross type and keep the -3ev on all points
Better Dynamic Range, some low light high ISO enhancement

I would love to see Focus Peaking , better live view focus

Agreed! I'd like to see -3ev on all points, even if there aren't many of them.

I dont think the 6DMKii will have 1/8000 sec shooter or 1/250 sync, it will stay at 1/4000 like the D600, D610 , it might get a 1/200 sec sync but Canon will want to keep the 6D away of the 5Dmk4 way
The biggest will be the dual pixel technology to go with the newer STM lens etc
Also an Intervalometer could be nice, or perhaps just a wifi app with that option?

I've just decided to wait for it. In the mean time, I'll keep working on my skills and maybe pick up a piece or two of good glass.

I would like to see it 1st qtr 2017 though then I could give it to me as a birthday present in June :)

I am of the opinion it might not happen at all--thus about a year ago I went ahead and got the 6D.

I got my 6D two months ago
I am extremely happy with my decision, I got an open box with full warranty at what I think was a great price, off course they will come even lower in price but i think is a camera that will give many years still of great images
I am sure you will be pleased, if Canon makes a 6Dmk2 I am sure it will be great and will sell tons, but the 6D is such a great all around full frame body for my use that i doubt i will upgrade it too soon
Good luck and enjoy

Considering the 6D was considered the 'low light entry full frame', it will be interesting if they continue that trend with the 6D2.

The 5D4 AF points can do -3EV and -4EV in LV, so I wonder if the center point on the 6D could be -4EV to follow that pattern. It really needs at least 30 AF points, with at least half being cross type. The further most AF points on my 6D can be quite inaccurate so that's something they need to fix. Other features I'd like are:

1/8000 sec max shutter
1/200th at least for flash sync speed, 1/250th would be preferable (but doubtful since 5D4 is only 1/200th)
Tilty touch screen
WB button
Exposure compensation in M when using auto ISO
Focus Peaking in LV
Dual Pixel RAW depends on how useful it actually is, we'll have to wait and see

For the sensor, 24 would be great but I certainly wouldn't mind 28-30. It is more than likely wrong, but if the 6D did to upmarket what if it was 36-40MP? We have the 1DXII at 20mp, then next level down is 5D4 at 30MP so why not 6D2 at 40MP?

The 5D4 announcement has made me very impatient, I can't wait to even see new rumors about what the 6D2 will offer.
