It should offer everything of the 5D4 but in a plastic body. That said, it will probably end up everything inside a 5D4, in a plastic body, and with software that omits key features and intentionally cripples the AF compared to a modern expectation.

Well I was hoping the 6d2 would be a full frame 80D, but seeing as how the 5d4 only got 7fps, I must say I am less excited about this 6D2. Well, Canon at least give of 6fps? and can we at least have a cross point sensor at the 4 rule of thirds positions?

I laughed out loud.

Like mentioned in here, here are a couple things on my personal wish list:

- Dual Pixel AF
- AF points that cover more of the screen
- 1/8000 SS for sure
- Touch screen

If they did that on the current platform, I wouldn't ever need to buy another camera. It makes me sad that I need to put NDs on my fast primes to use them outside wide open in bright day light.

+100 on this

Glad to see I'm not the only one with that issue! For a while I thought it was my lenses till I realized it was actually the AF points haha

I'm thinking 24mp, digic 6, round fps up to five, another half dozen af points, and no DPAF. Probably native 51,200 iso and a tweak of the flash sync but no 1/8000 ss. 6D will remain the poor mans full frame camera in Canons line up.

Leaving out DPAF would be an epic fail for Canon. It is what really stands them apart from the competition now and for Pete's sake, the 70D has it. I simply will not buy it without DPAF.

Well I was hoping the 6d2 would be a full frame 80D?

THIS.
They'll keep the FPS about 5 (I think it was like 4 before so they'll only up that a little), and it will get DPAF, and a new sensor with better DR and noise. If they stuffed it into a 70d body with 70d AF it would probably be a good enough difference from the 5d4 that it wouldn't have to be so crippled.

The only problem I've ever had with the 20mp sensor was that because the center point was the only real AF point, I had to intentionally shoot wider knowing I'd have to crop for my wanted composition...getting the shot was the priority. So I didn't get a full 20mp in use. I don't think they need to up the MP, but they most likely will.
Aside from the newer sensor design, I think the 6d2 will be what the 6d should have been, which is a FF 60d.

You are so right I almost stood up and started clapping. What they would train their reps to say when asked would be the most uncomfortable thing to watch LOL!!! "It wasn't intended as a slap in the face of users, but simply a marketing move *gulp, inner voice* I hope they bought that."

Considering the latest Rebel body has 19 all cross type AF points, I don't think we'll have to worry about Canon upgrading the AF on the 6D2. Also DPAF is on the M5 so I think Canon will be including it with all bodies now.

Old thread :)

I would assume same sensor as 5D4, AF from 80D?
I do not think thye will go out of their way to make it focus in light lower than the 5D4, that was a fluke with the 6D center point, simply because that was when Canon figured out how to do it.
