Unfortunately even Canon lenses do not hold value like they did in the past and are not as easy to sell. Switching gear would be costly.
The good thing about getting a Sony body is that you can adapt your Canon lenses....but most people who get a Sony body with the intention of adapting lenses end up transitioning to Sony lenses for various reasons. (mostly because adapted AF is not the best, and Sony lenses are actually really good).
Sony gear actually holds its value better than Canon does these days, so its moving from Canon to Sony can be painful. I have been transitioning over the past two years or so and I'm happy with the move, but it's been expensive. The ability to adapt lenses does mean you can take your time transitioning, which has been nice.
