Awesome set Sandy.

Thanks everyone for checking in and taking the time to comment. I'm hoping I catch these guys in my yard instead of our field for a better close up.

Ha, you said you had turkeys... that you do! Excellent shots of a good sized group. Surprised the youngsters are that small still. Guess they are a hardy lot. Wonder if they're protected until a certain size. Thanks for posting.

Thanks John. I saw a couple of different flocks today. One had 4 large birds, and another had 7 full size birds. I easily spotted three beards in one flock.

Thanks Rog! I guess we have a lot of turkeys around this year. My neighbors have been seeing even bigger flocks than this one. They are small, but they are growing really fast compared to the first time I saw them a few weeks ago.

That's awesome that you have wild turkeys in your neck of the woods!

For those close-ups, spring may give you the best opportunities. When the breeding season starts and the males strut, they lose a lot of caution and will often let one get as close as one wants. You could be in for a lot of fun come March and April!

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

Thanks Tom. Last winter was the first time that I had a flock of turkeys visiting on a regular basis. Even though they had a large male in the group, he never strutted when they were in my yard. One evening, minutes after they left my yard I heard about 20 gun shots coming from the direction of one of my neighbors...I never saw that flock again. No proof, but I know what happened. It was not Turkey season, plus it was 7 PM.
