Ruby-throated Hummingbird preparing for another fuel run. Feeding is getting feverish, almost time for that long flight south.

I usually try to stay a bit faster than that to avoid camera shake even with the IS on. The lower shutter speed really accentuates the wing motion. -Slice

The lower shutter speed really accentuates the wing motion. Thanks Slice. Ideally I do too. This bird only rested in the shade(sun in and out too) and I wanted to keep the ISO down. If I do it again I'll crank it up to 800. daverator wrote in post #17707917 Perfect series! Made me smile! Thanks very much Dave. Glad these brought an extra smile to your day. txcanon wrote in post #17707931 Great series Steve! The action in our backyard has picked up with new hummers coming and going in the last couple weeks. Thanks Brad. I think the long trip ahead has them on a fuel frenzy. Lupo-Lobo wrote in post #17707936 Beautiful set - lovely color and detail. Thanks very much Lupo. Thank you Ted. Steve
