Ruby-throated Hummingbird preparing for another fuel run. Feeding is getting feverish, almost time for that long flight south.

Awesome captures Steve! Great job on the last two holding the 500 at 1/250th of a second. I usually try to stay a bit faster than that to avoid camera shake even with the IS on. The lower shutter speed really accentuates the wing motion.

Thanks Slice. Ideally I do too. This bird only rested in the shade(sun in and out too) and I wanted to keep the ISO down. If I do it again I'll crank it up to 800.

Good job, especially considering handheld 500L. Not an easy thing to do let alone at 1/250.
