So info update: looks like the only thing that flat out dosnt work is the AF. Both rings spin smoothly and the aperture controls work when mounted on a body. The outside as you can see is really clean and actually just got professionally serviced a few months ago. Inside the glass has one black speck of something and has "water spots" where water drops got inside and dried.

PM me with questions

If you like the lens, I would send it in to Canon for repair, it would be cheaper than replacing it. If you are on the fence about it just have them give you a quote, then you would only be out shipping.

Wouldn't canon charge a crap ton for repairs? I guess I'm just turned off the idea bc I sent my 24-70 v1 to then for their servicing and they said it was out of warrantee so it was going to cost triple the price.

I'll keep that in mind but I already replaced the lens and got insurance. I don't think I really want to sink more money into this lens.

Canon does not service water damaged camera or lens. They'll ship right back to you.

I can hear the slight sound the IS makes but how would I test it? Yes it's the V1

I don't think this is true.

They won't do a warranty repair on a water-damaged lens, though. Nor will they honor a repair quote if there is hidden water damage.

In general when Canon service notice a water damaged lens or camera, there is a big chance that you will receive estimate with note: "beyond economical repair".
