Agreed, but that is not the same as Canon refusing to service water-damaged gear.

dbui_cal Senior Member 341 posts Likes: 6 Joined Nov 2012 Location: San Jose More info | I guess you are lucky. I had my camera and lens returned to me due to water damage by Irvine Canon. Sold them to another member who fixed them to normal working condition. I was told that they don't service water damaged gear because of the 90 days warranty associated after the service. If anything goes out, they're on the hook for it. Gear List
