This photo is actually easy to edit to add a shadow since the background's been removed and set to white. Provided you have Photoshop or something similar.

  1. Open the photo
  2. Duplicate the image to a new layer (preserve the original image)
  3. Select the new layer
  4. Select the background (Magic Wanted or Quick Selection tool, tolerance 32)
  5. Delete the background (Del)
  6. Add a new empty layer (Shift-Ctrl-N)
  7. Use the fill tool (paint bucket) to fill the selected area (background) of the new layer with white (or whatever background color you want)
  8. Invert the selection (Shift-Ctrl-I)
  9. Use the fill tool (paint bucket) to fill the selected area of the new layer with the desired shade of grey
  10. Cancel the selection (Ctrl-D)
  11. Move this new "shadow" layer under the Background Copy layer
  12. Select the shadow layer
  13. Use the Transform tools (scale, skew, perspective) to adjust how the shadow lays
  14. Apply Guassian filter to get the shadow look you want.
  15. Apply a layer mask to the shadow layer and mask out any parts of the shadow that you don't like (I didn't do that step below)

Took me longer to write it up than to do it
