help with PC sync cord (pocketwizard)

I bought a PocketWizard PC1N PC sync cord from B&H Photo. This is what i bought (external link)
I have a 1D Mark IIn and pocketwizards.
when i try to connect the cord to the 1D2n it appears that the pin on the PocketWizard sync cord is a bit "fat" or too big to fit in the camera's PC terminal. I have another PC cord that fits just fine, not sure where it's from.
In the photo below, the cord on the left is the one i have that fits on the camera.....although a bit on the loose side. The cord on the right is the pocketwizard sync cord, i purchased it because it claims to have a locking mechanism and i needed a second sync cord.

i don't want to push it in for fear of damaging my camera. Has anyone had this issue before?
Should i return the sync cord and order elsewhere?
what other sync cord recommendations should i look into?

@jobv2 interesting! Can't say I've seen a sync cable like that before. I use pocketwizards as well and this is the exact cable I use in my Mark III. Pretty sure they came in the pocketwizard box. Sure we could find some for cheap somewhere. Amazon? And yes, this one locks as well.

hmmm. Mine does not coil.
i have some online options, i just do not want to buy something that will not fit. (flash zebra, cactus, amazon)

why can't everything just have 1/8 jacks like on the pocketwizard? pc terminals frustrate me

Agreed! PC connectors and terminals are probably some of the oldest camera gear still being used today. Hopefully they'll be gone soon!

I didn't know there was different sized PC ports. That's just another level of crazy!

I would (did) buy from Lon at Flashzebra. You want the 'screwlock' version of the male pc terminal at one end and a mono mini-phone plug at the other.

Yea but read the reviews. I have 30 year old PC cables that still work. These don't seem like they would.

I feel your frustration. Or rather I did.

I used pw when they were the only game in town, and cable problems were a regular occurrence. There's just too many variables.

The modern way of eliminating cables and using direct conections to hot shoes and hot feet are far superior. I think it's the only solution.
