I'm new to Nikon and I'm not sure if I just need to change a setting or it just doesn't do it, but can you use AF in live view or is it only manual? It dont mind manually focusing, but just curious if it will auto focus.

smythie I wasn't even trying More info | Sep 18, 2015 08:54 | #2 I'm pretty sure you just initiate focus in the same way as you would through the view finder (e.g. AF-ON or half shutter press)

It doesn't work for me, the square turns green but it doesn't change focus, if I switch out of live view it will focus again. No clue what the issue is. Nikon D750 | ∑ 35mm f1.4 | Nikon 85mm f1.8G | Nikon 105mm f2.8D

VisualUniverse Senior Member More info | Just tried it with my D750 in LV mode with Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Art lens, and it lights up green on focus point as the autofocus engages. Website: VisualUniverse.org

No clue what the issue is. Strange I use live view frequently enough and the camera focuses just fine. (I use Back Button Focusing, but I don't think it matters in this case.) Which focusing mode do you use? Gear is one thing photos are another story.

Sep 25, 2015 20:42 | #6 I'm using af-s but I tried the other too, not matter what it won't focus. I'm also using the sigma 35 art. I am also using back button focus. So it's good to hear that neither of those are the reason. Hmm Nikon D750 | ∑ 35mm f1.4 | Nikon 85mm f1.8G | Nikon 105mm f2.8D
