This looks like another amazing clearance deal, currently at B&H;

This is the 2 series of the Induro's answer to Gitzo Systematic tripods, and from first person experience I can tell you the 3 and 4 series Induro are interchangeable with accessories for the Gitzo 3 and 4 series.

I am a long time Gitzo owner, who used to require the Systematic as the only option for a leveling head. These well made knock offs IMHO are side by side comparable for features and durability.

This 2 Series looks like a great small to mid size tripod with the "systematic" like expand-ability and options of a tripod you could own for a lifetime.

A few months back, the GIANT of the Grand series, the Series 4 went on a similar clearance;

It is now my largest tripod mounting a leveling column with a full Wimberly gimbal head. The Gitzo I have used for over a decade is now my "sort of large" Tripod and back up to the Induro 4.

Needless to say, one of these 203s is now on it's way home :)

P.S Hunt's still has stock on the 404 @ $350.00

I love my 404!
This is a great deal, and am VERY glad I saw your post.
I now want a leveling head, and, maybe, purchase ANOTHER 404 for use with my "monster" Sinar F2 4x5 system...

404 and a giant LF or MF system would be a great match!

Jake, Can you replace the pivoting feet? Spikes would be better for my use.

Yes, they are nearly universal, you can use Induro, Gitzo etc. The Induros use 3/8 16 threads.

Spikes;

Mine arrived today.

It is every bit what I've come to expect from the Induro line.
Packed inside the included over sized soft padded case, complete with Velcro removable "leg warmers".

It is both lighter and taller than my Gitzo 3 Series "s' model, and looks to be every bit as capable.

It is fully compatible with the 3 Series center sections, including the leveling head, Rapid column adjuster, and the Induro Crank height adjust center column I got to use on my Gitzo 3 Series.

FEET: The moonlander feet are installed and in this case, no the tripod was not supplied with alternatives. I have some affordable replacement rubber ones in the mail.

My Gitzo will be up for sale soon.

The tripod arrived today. Also ordered some Benro spikes that were in the 'Used' section ($10). The tripod is fairly tall and rigid. A bit more rigid than my Gitzo 3530 Mountaineer and the Induro weighs less. The feet seem to be made well, just an odd design. I knew that I would be fussing with them so I removed them immediately. The spikes should work well for my use. I don't think that the 'used' spikes had ever been used. Odd package though, they came with an allen wrench. The spikes don't attach with an allen screw?!?!? Oh well. The bottom of the leg has something that looks like a washer, to prevent the leg retracting into the upper leg section. A collar would have been better. Not a big deal, just an odd design. Also, the 'leg warmers' are too small and too thin to do much good. I've replaced those with pipe wrap. The carry bag seems excellent, nice size, good padding and internal velcro cuffs to hold the tripod in place. Overall, a very good tripod at a great price.

I think the one place that the "MoonLander" feet would be beneficial would be on the floor of a studio. When they meet a flat slippery surface like tile, hardwood, etc, they GRIP when weight applied to the top,. and actually make the tripod more solidly planted.

That said, I don't shoot indoors often so regular rubber feet and or spikes is what I use.

All of my Induro tripods have come with exceptionally useful and spacious bags. The Grand 4 series bag is big enough to accommodate a full Wimberley head Gimbal MOUNTED!

The inner and outer pockets for tools, replacement feet, etc,. and room for multiple heads over and above the one that's mounted. Nodal stuff for panoramas, extra QR plates,. room for all of it.

With these "Systematic" style "Grand series" in particular, where the top plate can be replaced with a leveling column, or adjustable center column, etc. all that could fit in the bag and be there shoudl duty call, as opposed to home in a box etc.

I'm 70 inch tall, would the Induro 203 have me at eye level with the addition of SIRUI K30 &camera?

Well it's 55" tall, going to guess the K30 is another 4-5 and another 3-4 to the viewfinder... so no, just shy.
