I'm still here Rose :-)

I know what you mean by perhaps too sharp, as in regards to the the foreground grasses but your effects are cool. Makes me want to play with silver effects also.

Exciting news this past week, a company bought the NIK Collection and will carry on developing it! A new version will be released in 2018 :-)

Yes it was :-)

Meanwhile this month, Adobe announced it will release a Final version of Lightroom 6 in December, never to release an upgrade (v7 for example).

I have Lr6 (and Photoshop Elements 14) and will hold off as long as I damn-well can before I pay Adobe a monthly fee.

However DXO and On1 Photo Raw 2018 (external link) are very attractive possible alternatives without subscription.

I've downloaded a trial version of DxO and at the moment it seems too much like hard work .... so not sure if I'll stick with it. I've also pre ordered Luminar which is getting great reviews ...

I subscribed to Adobe last December, but am dropping it as soon as the year is up. Rarely use Photoshop tools. I still have a download for Lightroom 6, so ill revert to that. Maybe I'll reinstall my old PSE 11, but maybe I'll upgrade to a current version.

Did these some time ago. It's creative / oldish looking, still not sure what to make of it.

A play with Nik vintage yellowed edit. Haven't done any for a while I think the modern lens makes the image too sharp, even although I tried some Gaussian blur. Might have to take one of legacy lenses for a walk ...

If anyone also follows the Cinematic Look thread, here is an easy way to add black bars for that cinematic look. I used PS Elements 14

Takes less than 30 seconds...
