I was checking out something online and as most times, it will lead me to YouTube, so... :)

This guy that does the video(s) is pretty good, the main reason is that he goes into enough details, but doesn't bore you, at least I wasn't. I really didn't learn that much, and I didn't always agree with all he said, but I wish I had this information when I first started out in birds, or photography in general, it would've saved me time, AND, money. I personally shoot Canon, and he uses a Nikon, but the majority of the information works for both, it's about photography, not so much brands. :)
So while it may seem to be long, it is helpful, and if you are still wondering about what setting to use for a certain thing, I bet this will help, and it goes into all kinds of things too, so it's not just settings.

He also has many more videos on his YouTube site, I checked out another to see if he was consistent, and he seemed to be, so it appears that he has enough 'stuff' on there to help quite a few people with different things.

And if folks haven't checked out the Free Textbook for Beginners Sticky on this Bird Talk Forum, they should; it has a wealth of information.

I have to agree that is a really impressive lot of information, but personally, if I were a newbie, I'd rather look at the easy introductory video version, then, after I felt I had more of a grasp on things, come back to the, "Free Textbook for Beginners". The reason I say that is that is a LOT of information to absorb, and that may turn some off if they are bombarded with all of that special goodness. heheh (Forget about it if you have ADHD!) :)

I will say though, I read that a while back, I don't know how far I got into it, but I know I had to have learned something there. How could one not? :)

Thanks, Al, for the post.
