I was checking out something online and as most times, it will lead me to YouTube, so... 
This guy that does the video(s) is pretty good, the main reason is that he goes into enough details, but doesn't bore you, at least I wasn't. I really didn't learn that much, and I didn't always agree with all he said, but I wish I had this information when I first started out in birds, or photography in general, it would've saved me time, AND, money. I personally shoot Canon, and he uses a Nikon, but the majority of the information works for both, it's about photography, not so much brands. 
So while it may seem to be long, it is helpful, and if you are still wondering about what setting to use for a certain thing, I bet this will help, and it goes into all kinds of things too, so it's not just settings.
He also has many more videos on his YouTube site, I checked out another to see if he was consistent, and he seemed to be, so it appears that he has enough 'stuff' on there to help quite a few people with different things.
