I had a G9 also and I went onto the G15. The G16 overall is a much better camera. I got the G15 at a very low price, it was too good to refuse. I have been thrilled with it and such a vast improvement on the G9 I had. The macro on it is so good I decided to sell my EF 100mm f2.8 L Macro lens. I purchased the G15 as a back-up camera but I found myself using it more so than I intended, in fact my wife loves it so much she has taken ownership of it. If you can afford the G16 then go for it, however the much cheaper G15 will not disappoint you.

The G9 has a Digic III processor whereas the G15 has a digit 5 processor. The AF and shutter lag are considerably faster on the G15.

To me personally the biggest advantages of the G15 over the G9 is the lens which the G15 has a wider aperture f/1.8 as opposed to f/2.8 and of course has a much wider angle 28mm rather than 35mm. Oh Yes.......A much better resolution screen on the G15. I recall the resolution on the G9 was rubbish.

When I was making the same choice I went for the G15 over the G16 for two reasons: I had no use for the WiFi on the 16, the 15 was on sale and much cheaper and had all the features I needed. I've never regretted it - it's great little camera.

When I bought my G15, The only difference I could see was the wifi and the 15 was a lot cheaper. Did I miss some other differences?
