So, awhile ago my 50mm 1.4 fell from a table onto a tile floor. I was scared a the time it would be a fatal injury. Remarkably the lens still works 100%. However, the metal on the mounting ring bent a very slight amount, to the point where it fits but the 'turn and lock' is very difficult and I worry over time it could cause damage to the lens mount on the camera bodies.

The mount ring was easy to take off (four screws to remove from the lens body, two more to loosen a retaining ring that holds the electronic connections in place), but finding a ring... well I haven't been able to. Anyone know where I could source parts like this?

P.S., I can't even even see the bend in the mounting ring, but I know that one of the 'fins' on the metal part must be bent. I could try and bend the part on the ring back with it taken off the lens, but I don't ultiumately know how effective that would be.

here's a useful site: http://www.uscamera.com/cy1-2180.htm (external link)

they even use the Canon part numbers for the URL of each part which makes searching for parts catalogs and alternative sources etc much easier...

awesome that it landed mount-side down!

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:
