As the title says, what would you guys recommend as the best video tripod? I dont need those massive ones seen at sports events. Something durable, light and portable. Price isnt a factor right now. Thanks!

For video with a DSLR (what lenses?), a P&S, or a video camera? Weight of the rig you'll be using will have an impact.

For the tripod, I'd look at one of the RRS 20- or 30- series, or a Gitzo 3xxx series. Price for a fluid head can make either of those tripods look like a bargain, though. Some of the factors on those would be whether and what kind of QR system you currently use. You probably want to allow for at least 20 lb. capacity, since vendors habitually overrate their products.

I don't do much video , and have never used a ball head to do video.

But my Induro AT 413 aluminum tripod with the Induro gimble really works great.
