Someone here on POTN has recently shot handball?
i've found no post on it. i guess could be similar to shooting basket.
i'm thinking a glass for a combo with the 1D4.. the 300 could be too long.
finally considering: Canon 70-200mm F4 - Tamron SP 70-200mm F2.8 VC - Sigma 85mm f/1.4
stabilization could be not a deal as you know guys, for freezing the ball i'll use fast shutter.
pardon my poor english :D
p.s. pictures welcome..

You might bring both of your 70-200 lenses. All depends how well lit the courts are if it's indoors. You might get away with the f/4 if it's well lit, and the 1D4 can shoot quality images with a high ISO.

I shot handball at the Special Olympics World Games this summer. You are correct that a 300 was to long. I used my 70-200 for 95% of my shots. I had the 300 with me so the other 5% were with it.

Unlike basketball there are no shots to take from across the length of the court. That's why the 300 didn't work for me. The shots I did get with it were mostly jube.

My pictures are in this gallery (external link) if you are interested in looking.

Thx for the tip Bob :) Btw, nice handball shots. Great combo the 1D4 & the 70-200!
