Post your blurry pictures!

Ha ha, probably ain't gonna get far with this one. But I figure we all take blurry pictures, whether by mistake or intentional, and sometimes happy accidents happen. So, if you happen to actually like a blurry picture, feel free to post...

In this case I had the camera manually focused so I could try to take a shot of her without her noticing, and completely missed focus. But she looked so dreamy I decided to use the picture anyway. (FYI, this was in a train, Paris, France.)

Not the best use of a 50mp camera either, ha ha.

I can appreciate blur to show motion but this one just looks like the wrong ISO was chosen. Sorry, for me its a no.

I agree. Motion blur is cool but if you were just sitting next to her on a bus trying to catch a candid photo and missed focus then it's a throw away for me. If this is a person you don't know then this may fall in the lines of being 'a little creepy'.

yeah, i figure for most it's a no, ha ha. it's meant to be creepy in a way, or what some might call "creepy"--but for me it's art, and the viewpoint of an eye not face to face, and not belonging to a human of adult height. it's "creepy" in the sense that this eye is invading a space, making the viewer uncomfortable and raising awareness. i guess it falls under the "creepy street photography" category, but i guess many of those folks would say it's a "fail" also. most of my shots that i post are of people i don't know.

the photo i love because it is ethereal, hence the name "apparition." she's a ghost, that may or may not be there. lovely, and faultless because simply she cannot be seen clearly.

what is not seen in that picture is her bf, and they were making out for a good 5min on the train, totally at each other. this was just about the only second she was not entangled with him.

here is another blurry shot. shot during my vacation in canada. my gf and i were walking and i was having some fun trying to catch her in a "moment", thus had my camera setup at a slower shutter speed to hopefully get a shot with some of her dress in motion. but this couple walked by and i swung around to shoot them, while walking at the same time.

There's something special about that one. I think the blur is effective because it combines with the nighttime setting, the tilt of the scene (which is also usually a mistake), and the man's pose of doubt/uncertainty to make the message "Where are we?" come through.

I will play. I forgot to change shutter speed and this was the result.

This one looks more like the butterfly photobombed your picture of the flowers.

Subscribed! And here's my post. Missed focus and shutter too slow, but maybe here, in this thread, I can get some credit for that

I think I'm not allowed to post the picture here, but that link goes to a pic by Koudelka, of some ruins from his Vestiges collection.

I went to the Koudelka exhibit at Getty about a year ago, and that one picture was stretched across a huge wall--maybe 20ft? or so wide. At that enlargement level you can clearly see how blurry the subject actually is. Now, of course, he knows exactly what he's doing and surely intentionally made the subject (the hand) out of focus, along with other sections. But I think if he actually focused "correctly" it would not nearly be as powerful.

The Koudelka exhibit was an eye-opener for me. Many images were imperfect, some probably just cause of circumstances or by accident, but probably some on purpose. And I found out how imperfection could be so perfect. All his pictures were hauntingly beautiful. The guy's a god.
