I am curious what you think? I think I could only do so much given the clouds covering the mountain in the backdrop (I THINK :)!!) A few different positions and edits.... I'm curious what else could have been done.

Thanks in advance

great shot. you nailed this one

like the "walking around" pic too. i notice this is from the same camera position as the first. Did you step to your left, right or back to get another perspective?

photoshop out his actual body, but leave the reflection of his body. :P

this is great chance to show what Pekka (thank you sir!) has done with image management but also a good time to talk about the histogram.

if you go back to the original post and hover over the image, in the bottom right you will see a "Histogram" button, click it and it shows the histogram!

Compare the histogram's left side for the first and last pics, you will see the steep drop off. The drop off shows the darkest parts of the image. I might pull the darkest shadows back a tiny bit but not as far as you have. Of course it is a personal preference. It looks like you used Levels, with Curves you can get a little fade after puling back the blacks.

The first shot is great, really.

And if anyone hasn't checked out POTN's histogram should do it right now.

I like #2, where the man is walking across the scene.

#1 and #4 are "interesting" but static.

#3 loses me. I can find a story, and were I not "primed" by the other 3 with the man clearly visible, I wouldn't have seen him in this one.

Thank you all. It's great to see everyone's perspective and allows me to learn, and play around with these pictures...
