Android Remote Trigger

I have a XTi and am looking for a setup to be able to remote trigger the camera via cell phone (if possible). I don't have a tablet (yet) but would like to at least be able to control the shutter speed and aperture via my phone.

Reason being is that I'd like to be able to walk around and light paint with my 430 without going back and forth to the camera. I only have one remote trigger at the moment and with the 430 the trigger has to be mounted to the top of the camera as I'm sure you're all aware.

Any recommendations/is this even possible on an body as old as the XTi?

This should work I think. You will have to add the router but that looks easy.

The DSLR Controller website (http://dslrcontroller.​com/devices.php), in the table of supported devices for the XTi, says "no liveview!" and as far as compatibility uses the term "mostly". That may or may not impact what you are trying to do. Also, check the list for supported Android devices before buying that tablet.
