While shooting a pair of Red-shoulderd Hawks atop a tree I spotted another bird hovering over to my left. It was a bit distant and I had no time for exposure adjustment so I clicked a 5 or 6 frames before it dropped into the deep grass. I couldn't bring myself to trash the series so I salvaged this one the best I could. The light angle was all wrong but I really like these birds, their markings are my favorite of the smaller hawks. Both the flight and bird on the post were taken in Florida's south central cattle country.
