So, a guy I know is selling a BD. I've been wanting to pick one up. This is 22" and he bought from a studio liquidation for $80. Selling now for $60. It did not have a mount when he got it, and he never used it. I'm going to look at it Saturday, but from hos pictures, I can't see how to attach my bowens S mount. I could just be stupid, though.

Looks like it is missing the mount. Ask if any other parts came with it. Opening appears slightly smaller than Bowens so may have been intended for something else. You could still make it work with a little modification. If a generic dish, you might pass and look for one that includes the ring mount instead.

Hi, Looks like Godox Wistro mount hole or Bowens. JMO but sure you get new22" from Ebay for less than $60. Example item number:
252111568576.
No connection with seller/s live outside the USA.
Russ

Many Thanks,
Russell.

Unfortunately, I didn't see the ebay link before getting this one. So, the price may not have been that good, after all.

But, one in the hand, vs. two in the bush......

What I ended up doing was using a 21# drill bit and a 10-32 tap to put some threaded screw holes into the backside. Now, I can mount the S-mount just like it mounts in the speed ring for my octabox. Seems pretty steady so far. I'll test it out over the next week or so, as I have time.

The dish you have pictured has an PCB/Balcar mount. You can adapt it to a Bowens mount with a Desmond speedring adapter which I have found has one of the lowest profiles of any of the bowens adapters: http://www.amazon.com …-11&keywords=bowens+mount (external link)

Here I have converted a PCB Omni with this adapter using some screws with wingnuts so that I can quickly change back to the PCB mount:
