Poyatos Goldmember More info | Oct 02, 2015 08:38 | #3 Lovely captures and Brian is spot on, it's definitely a Silver Y (Autographa gamma). The Silver Y is named after the well defined 'Y' mark on the forewing (this can be clearly seen in the second pic). The Silver Y is a day flying immigrant from continental Europe. As your captures show, they can frequently be seen by day, flying frantically as they visit flowers, as well as at dusk, and night. In Autumn, their population along coastal sites can be large. I recently also had the privilege of capturing one. Alex
