Yesterday, while walking back home after a lovely, though photography wise fruitless day out, this female mallard came by. Facing the perspective of having no shots at all, I thought 'why not'. To my suprise, I really enjoyed watching her taking a bath and preening. Amazing, how a bit of sun and water can make one happy :). So here are a few poses and weird poses of a mallard for you as a break from all the eagles, hawks, hummers and the rest. What I've learnt from this is: 1) ducks spend far more time on a personal care than me :) 2) never look down at a duck again.

Super series! I like and shoot just about every thing I come across. Some are prettier than others, but I like to watch them all in the wild. They all have their own beauty and grace.

Terrific set Mag, I think you captured every pose in the book there!

What a great set - I burst out laughing at the second one. And the series is very evocative of a duck's life.

Yes, they all are beautiful. If only other birds had more of this duck-like trusting attitude :)

Well, this would only be a prologue to the 'poses of the duck' book, but I limited myself to 8 shots, to avoid having words with Pekka ;)

If we're talking a duck's life, I shall disclose, that a duck confit somehow came to my mind as she was toddling away (which I felt quite guilty about :) ).
