Hi all,
First time I have encountered this issue. I have one 32gb card that typically lives inside my 6D that I took out and put in my wallet for a few days after a recent trip. Nothing appears physically damaged on the card but now when I insert it into a camera or my SD card reader on my laptop it isn't readable.

The card does not appear physically damaged so I guess the contacts could be compromised. It's not the end of the world if I cannot retrieve photos from this card but I would gladly pay a service to do so. Other than trying to clean the contacts with isopropyl alcohol, any recommendations for a service that might be able to read the card?
Thanks!

See the article at http://www.computerworld.com …-usb-drives-and-more.html (external link).

Personally I'd try the PhotoRec (see page 2 of the article) as it is quite good at working on cards that won't mount for various reasons. Many recovery programs are dependent on at least the flash drive at least being recognized.

Be aware that many of the places where you can send a card for recovery charge around $100 minimum and most don't make any promises. Ask yourself are the images worth that much?

^ Just to make sure, the small tab on the side of the card itself didn't get set to locked did it?
