An old sunset from the channel islands

Hi guys, was digging through some photo's that I took with my first DSLR + kit lens back in 2009 when on a family holiday to Alderney, just off the coast of France. Luckily enough I shot in RAW so have just done a bit of post on this for the first time, feedback would be appreciated!

The camera was a canon 450D with the 18-55 kit lens. Hand held, straight into the sun, no filters. I was 19 at the time and this seems to be the best of about 10 shots.

Knowing what I know now, I would have stopped down a lot more for a greater DOF and eased up on that shutter speed.
