How about the idea of shooting from a tripod and using strobes with the overhead off at each position. You could combine shots...

I shoot video on the carousel. I also shoot photos using an intervalometer while the carousel spins, to create a 360 spin of each car. In addition to video.

In that case, I'd aim a light high on the wall to the left of the car, too. Why? Turn all the lights out except that one, or the one I mentioned earlier, & you will see what it does to the car.

QUOTED IMAGE

Is that round a rotating platform that I saw ?

If that is a rotating platform, that would be easy for you to add more lights
from font and sides

And some spot light for direct side lights

For the car? I wouldn't. Indirect light is usually the best route. But some spots might be useful if he had people in the shot.

Compliments on your build. I made a portable set up with ripstop as you did. While it is smaller than yours, it works the same, and the seams are refelected in the cars. Some angles are worse than others, it depends on the body lines, finish, etc. Any fabric sag also produces uneven reflections. While these can all be fixed in post processing, it was not ideal. I'm guessing these are your concerns, too. The cross pieces in your frame cause visual distraction, if you know what I mean. You are also getting other room reflections, but I think those could be resolved by setting up large flags. Lower camera angles will also help. You will also have an easier time with black walls.

Yes sir it is! :)

The amount of light isn't the problem, although i do have some dark areas, specifically when I shoot the cars head on and from the back. The biggest concern is the reflections on the car. Its SUPER bad on darker cars:

I should paint the carousel itself a darker color, but I've been worried that I would lose detail in the lower part of the car, especially the wheels and tires.

Thank you so much! It hasn't been easy (or cheap) but at this point with all the money invested I feel like it really should be perfect. Do you know of a better diffusing material that I could use?

The problem isn't the diffusing material. The problem is that you have 4 lights with a big dark separation between them. Maybe if you put the ripstop over the bottom of the frame & then add extensions a few feet below the frame & put ripstop over that, it might smooth out the light more.
