New Problem...I downloaded newest version of utility software and took a bunch of tethered shots with CF card in 1Ds3>
plugged card into computer>opened LR and started to download images...they were .dng images and not .cr2.

How do I correct this problem...I want .cr2 and not .dng. This is a new problem, never happened before.

If have not deleted the files from the card, you can delete the DNGs and remove them from the catalog and import the CR2s. EOS Utility for sure didn't make the DNGs, it was done by LR during the import, either by clicking Copy As DNG or by a preset.

It's like this Tony...LR changed it's import dialogue as to how it treats images. In my case it automatically converted them to dng.
Apparently the newest update made some other automatic changes as well...http://www.photographybay.com …Bay+%28Photography+Bay%29 (external link)

So, when you open the Import dialog, does it show the several choices, "Copy as DNG" along with the Copy, Move and Add settings? In at least older versions of LR those last three choices should not do the DNG conversion...are you saying that those choices are no longer that way, or are you saying that LR does the change by default, but you should be able to select one of the others...?

Well, I looked at that article, and some of the stuff sounds a bit screwy, but you still have the choices to Copy and Add, which shouldn't do an automatic DNG conversion, correct?

You can make those selections Tony, I just never had to pay any attention in the past.

Ah well, my default setting has always been to Move (from the card reader), but if that feature is no longer available, I guess I'd copy from the card to my hard drive. It sounds like there may be some confusion though when it comes to naming the destination folder, as if you may have to use your system browser to create the folder? That would suck, 'cause when I do an Import I have a named folder created and the files renamed, all built in to the Input process...

When transferring Raw files from a card, the only available option at the top of the panel is 'Copy'. So by default the original Raw format is retained. Towards the bottom there is a checkbox for 'Convert to DNG', but by default the box is unchecked.

I myself haven't made the leap to CC, or even to the standalone LR6 (in fact I'm still using LR4.4!) so anyway, all the changes don't affect me! :)
