EDIT: Since writing this, I have bought a £14 one off amazon for a laugh. Not sure it is just a laughing matter. I bought a 16' cable release off ebay for $5.99 USD (probably about 4 pounds, right?). The Canon ones are way, way more than that. The $5.99 release works perfectly, day in, day out. I would expect the same performance from a timed release, especially if I paid as much as 14 pounds (roughly 20 USD) for it! "Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.

My only complaint is that there is no on/off switch so sometimes I find the battery dead. Now I take the battery out between uses. Otherwise it works well. The release button works without the battery. Bob

NorryRodgers Member  More info | Oct 19, 2015 17:34 | #4 I use a wireless version which cost about €15 and works flawlessly whenever used, although like the above post, there is no on off switch on the trigger which means the button can get pressed in the camera bag and run down the battery.

Oct 20, 2015 03:03 | #5 Well I had the opportunity to test my new £14.99 timer trigger last week in Scotland and have to say it works perfectly. Can't fault it in anyway. Took a number of shots over 30 secs exposure and it didn't let me down once. See my flickr profile here

NorryRodgers Member More info | Oct 20, 2015 13:43 | #6 Sometimes the cheap gear gets a bad rep, and yes, it does not have the name, but essentially with a bit of time invested they can perform equally as good.
