Shot this 1 month ago at my daughter's wedding. No, I was not the photographer, and yes, I stayed WAY out of the photographer's way. She was at the end of the dock. And I must say, by the previews I have seen, she has done a magnificent job! Truth be told, the only time my camera came out of it's bag was for this dock shot. Other than that, I simply enjoyed the day :) I had this printed on wood, ordered one for her father and I, and one for the happy newlyweds.

Bravo! Only little complaint: I wish the ripples weren't there.

Ha ha, that's my nitpick too!!!

But the photographer was running the show, and the water never smoothed over while we were there. I wasn't going to ask to stay longer, not my place :)

Understood, But I really like this picture and couldn't resist trying to remove the ripples. Not very good, but the best that I could do with the low-res JPEG. Hope you don't mind my posting it. If you do I will remove it.

Don't mind at all! I am always open to C&C, and seeing what I can improve on.

If you don't mind telling me, how are you smoothing it out?

Sure thing. The ripples in the water just required simple cloning but the people were a bit harder. I copied the photo as a layer, masked off all but the couple, reversed the layer top to bottom and painted them out of the original layer. Then added some blur to make it look more like a reflection.

I actually like the ripples in the OP better.

Nice photo.

A water reflection photo is what got me interested in portraiture.
