So I have had it with my previous wedding bag situation. I wanted a rolling bag that would work to carry my gear minus light stands. This was the first go around, used it at this weekends wedding and have a few adjustments to make. Next I will be packing it for a flight to Hawaii in 10 days. OK onto the "build" I used an old carry on suitcase that we no longer used. I had two to choose from, one had the handle on the inside of the bag and that just sucked. This one the handle is on the outside so I have a nice flat surface to work with. The "bones" of the build is corrugated plastic that I picked up from the local sign shop, got a 4'x8' sheet for $20, I still have tons of it left over. I then picked up some sheets of 1/4" foam from McMasterCARR it was supposed to have an adhesive on one side but I must have ordered the wrong kind so I had to improvise.
I 3D printed the clips to hold everything together, using the Trekpack type design.
I have the bag on the table and empty as I rework a few things after last weekends wedding but I tell you what it was a heck of a lot nicer then shoulder carrying 3 bags to 4 different venues.
