This lens was recently announced, so I thought I'd already make a thread for it. ;-)a

I think I will be selling the 28mm and picking up this beauty at some point. No need for wide right now but I really wanted a proper wide angle lens to appear, not a screw on toy, and 4 have been announced... :)

It surprises me that there aren't any images in this thread yet. The lens is already in stock here in Europe.

That's understandable. It's an expensive lens. :-)

I have managed to get one and first thoughts are that the aperture ring is badly designed, will be impossible to use with gloves on and difficult when the camera is up to your eye. Possibly not a problem for most landscape togs. The rest is classic Zeiss, nice smooth focus ring, solid build and metal hood. Really small, was expecting something bigger for some reason.

Will give it a good bashing in the Dales over Easter :)

I read next door (fredmiranda forum) that quite a few people had issues with decentering. How's yours Neilyb?

Not had chance to test it properly unfortunately. :( Will have to find a brick wall.

I got mine today! Pretty much first thing I did was to find a brick wall and shot a test shot to check it is not suffering from decentering.

Mine is perfect. I dont know why I didnt try to take the shot at f11 and shot this wide open but this thing is sharp at 2.8 almost all the way to the edge!

Cant wait to take it for a proper shoot!

Just got mine today. Will do more testing over the next few days. I like the size and balance in the a series body. Love the metal finish too.

Had a thorough testing in the UK, lots of images to go through. Do I like this lens? It is damn near perfect. Small, built like a tank, sharp in to the corners and smooth like a Zeiss. I can now carry my landscape kit in tiny bag, some 52mm ND's and a CPL... awsome.
