Hi guys,

Your probably thinking this is an odd comparison, but i'm trying to justify getting the 750D over the 1200D when it is nearly double the price.

The issue I have is that although it's double the price, there still isn't two dials!! Irratating!

From what I can see, the benefits of the 750D are:

Swivel screen - higher res aswell as touchscreen
newer 24mp sensor - anygood??
5fps vs 3fps
more focus points

Now i'm not into video so anything related I have left out, also the focus points are irrelevant as i'm a centre point user only. I don't really shoot any sport, so the fps is just a bonus.

Swivel screen will hardly be used as live view is awful anyway!

So in general, the main benefit it the newer sensor and processor.

How good is it in comparison???

Heya,

It comes down to what you want to shoot.

Image quality is a wash, they will essentially have the same image quality output.

The real difference really just is the features, and whether you think those features are worth paying for.

Frankly, if you're considering the 750D (T6i), I would suggest you rather consider a refurb/used 70D instead. It's better and basically costs the same.

But again, it comes down to what you shoot. If you're doing landscape, general, portrait, macro, etc, the T5 will do the same thing the rest will do frankly. The biggest difference will be the FPS, and different features (MFA, WiFI, etc), ergonomics, etc, that differentiates them truly.

Very best,

Thanks for the reply!

Yes, see the 70D was in my line of sight, the extra features like weather sealing, 2 dials and top LCD display are things I use to love on my old 7D. I'm worried on the size and weight though, coming from mirrorless.

I'm thinking save money on the body with a 1200D and purchase some better glass with the saving over the 750D/7D.

Heya,

Just a thought, but why even bother with the T5?

A used T3i or T4i or T5i would cost the same and have more features while still having the same IQ.

And of course depending on what you're doing, there's also the EOS-M3 if you want a Canon Mirrorless.

Another option is a refurb SL1. It's super small, and has full features and still has the same image quality as the others you're looking at, but much smaller, if you are worried about big cameras.

Very best,

Well I have vouchers to spend on a particular website so I can't really purchase second hand. The EOS-M3 looks and feels great, but with no EVF, lack of native lenses and still unimpressive AF speeds put me off!

The SL1 is a great little camera, but with the form factor I find it slightly too small!

Thanks again
