I still use an older version of AfterShot Pro, derived from Bibble because I like the way I can make local adjustments (with layers and polygons). However, I'm not upgrading because they lost Noise Ninja, which may not be the best, bit was quite decent. If they get an integrated and decent NR then I'll likely upgrade.

So right now, as I upgrade to cameras not supported in ASPv1 I'm using ACR instead, saving to (mostly) .jpeg and then applying local adjustments in ASP. It's working OK for what I use the 7DII for, but if I upgrade the 5DIII it will be a pain.

Bibble was my go to for years after Rawshooter was "Borged" by Adobe.

I just concluded my relationship with Aftershot and Corel sadly, they have been working on making improvements to the interface that I really like, and I still love the "Perfectly Clear" option (used with an adjustment layer for control)

However, since I built Skynet, a rock solid perfectly running crash free workstation dedicated solely to post processing, of all things the ONLY program that won't run stable, is Aftershot. In fact it is unstable as hell. It is the ONLY app that has ever crashed or forced closed, and it does it non stop. After months of no reply from customer support and no help on the Aftershot forum,, I switched 100% to Capture One. (previously I had been about 60-40% in favor of Aftershot, however my relationship with C1 goes back even longer than Bibble, C1 being older)

I also really loved the Noise Nija plug in among others that was included with Bibble. It seems Corel is slowly killing off most of the best aspects of Bibble, while making their own advances (and support for them) in glacial time periods.

So now I use C1 almost exclusively with some use of DPP and a tool called BreezeBrowser.

I too went the RawShooter and Bibble route.

Now happy with DPP (shooting mainly portraits and macro), with much remorse for looking down on it at the very beginning.

Still like DPP, but it has improved quite a bot since the beginning as well.
My issues with it are all about interface, dual monitor support etc.

The conversion results are fantastic.

Jake, if you would...take a moment to explain why you like your software over PS 2015.

I do use Photoshop a lot after I use a RAW Converter like C1.

I am still using PSCS6, and likely will not ever go to a subscription model. The idea pains me.
I've been licensed user of Photoshop since version 4. (not CS4 mind you, all the way back to 4 in 1996) But Adobe lost me as a customer recently for a few reason, the most recent issue being the idea of a subscription model. (Of course this decision has pretty much relegated me to the position of hopeless dinosaur, so I'm not sure I can even be considered a useful source of post processing info anymore. )

When Photoshop 7.0.1 came out with the very fist version of "A.C.R." (Adobe Camera Raw) I used it quite a it as one of my experimental RAW tools, alongside the earlier versions of Breezebrowser, Capture One, and Canons own Raw tools (before DPP).

At that time i did not have a favorite, and would go back and forth.

I stopped toying with ACR around with Photoshop 8 (CS1) when RawShooter Essentials was first released.

Since then I have pretty much always used a dedicated RAW converter versus the one built into Photoshop.

As to why I abandoned ACR? I just preferred the interfaces of the dedicated RAW tools I guess. I understand some are having very good success using ACR and Adobe Bridge.

When RawShooter came out, it just seemed to make it all soooo easy and the conversions always seemed best. Since then I've felt I always needed to compromise between image out put quality and ease of use. Nothing else seems to have both balanced as well as RS did.

Of course then Adobe released LightRoom, bought and destroyed RawShooter, and that's when i turned to bouncing back and forth between Bibble/Aftershot pro and C1.
