This whole shot feels over exposed. Anyway to tone it down? Especially the sky. A darker ominous sky would look much better here.

Nope! I like the HDR look to it and the sky is plenty dark enough on my monitor.

Agreeing with the other poster about the sky. The forum has a photo histogram display option to click. That big spike on the right? That's the sky, and a lot of it is at 255 (blown out).

I agree with the other comments. The picture seems overexposed and does not convey the mood of a storm coming. The sky is too bright as well as the grass in the foreground, which is distracting for me. Also since the sky is so bright you can barely see the lightning flash.

There is so much more potential for this image. The sky 'could' be enhanced via Lightroom to really pull out the drama that it has. Just look at the histogram and you will see that the peak of light is right-of-center.

Give it image a little more attention and I'm betting you will see how much more this image 'could' be. As of right now, it's overexposed on all three of my computers (with calibrated screens).

Great shot composition wise. But wow....I will say you are a man of extremes when it comes to processing.... To each his own. If it looks good to you then that s/b end of story.

Umm...I think what everyone meant was more of a middle ground between the two pictures. The sky is blown out in spots on the first edit, but it's WAY over-processed in the second. Maybe try lowering the highlights or whites slider over to the left some. There are many things about the second edit that show how much it's overdone, but one of the telltale signs is the haloing effect that you have around the border of all the objects against the sky in your photo.

FYI: "Fitness Freak" is also known as "Amber" outside of POTN.
